STAFF JOB DESCRIPTIONS
Editor-in-Chief
-
Act as the official representative of the publication to administrators, students, and the general public
-
Chairs executive board meetings and has the ability to hold unscheduled meetings with groups
-
Maintains the ladder guide to assure deadlines are met
-
Runs all social media pages and posts important/helpful information on them
-
Heads all marketing inquiries and promotions
-
Is in constant communication with section editors to make sure tasks are completed on time and with the proper skillset
-
Has final say on all publications
-
Acts as final decision maker over content, style, design, theme, and appropriateness for the publication with Mrs. Bass
-
At times, will complete projects of staff members who fail to meet a deadline
-
Assigns beats within the publication
-
Works with the adviser in all aspects
-
Helps solve problems as they arrive
-
Signs off on final proofs before shipped to the printer
-
Becomes an extension of the adviser if the adviser is sick or not present
-
Sets goals and evaluates how goals are being met
-
Responsible for the morale of the staff as a whole
-
Helps layout pages and makes sure they are in line with theme and design
-
Creates theme copy, endsheets, dividers, and colphon
-
Completes Canvas assignments before 11:59 pm daily
-
Completes a timesheet at the end of every week
-
Attends weekly editor meetings
-
Sells books and ads
Section Editors or Seasonal Editors

Takes over when editor is absent
-
Works with respective staff members to complete deadlines
-
Is in constant communication with the EIC about deadline and goal status

Helps adviser by completing the Staff Evaluation Form at the end of every six weeks

Helps other editors solve problems as they arise

Assigns pages to their staff members

Works with EIC to make sure layouts are in line with theme and design

Actively edits pages and stories

Delegates responsibilities to others to make sure deadlines are met on time

Assists the EIC in all duties

Sometimes must complete tasks of respective staff members to ensure that deadlines are met

Provides the adviser with specific information regarding Staff performance

Reference Section

Creates literary magazine section that aligns with book theme and design

Sets up contacts with art teachers and lead English teacher to gather elements for the literary magazine including content

Designs basic mods for the index

Designs senior ads that go with the theme and design

Interacts with senior parents that have bought ads to assure that they are correct
-
Chooses art/literary pieces to go in the literary magazine
-
School marketing and sales for yearbook including advertising, sales videos, posters, etc.
